Peggy McIntosh is a feminist, anti-racism activist, scholar, and speaker. Currently, she is Senior Research Scientist of the Wellesley Centers for Women.
McIntosh co-founded the National Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity Project on Inclusive Curriculum. She has written on curricular revision, feelings of fraudulence, hierarchies in education and society, and professional development of teachers.
She is best known for her article "White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack," which was published in 1989 and popularized the concept of intersectional privilege.
McIntosh received her B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in English from Radcliffe College / Harvard University.
