Peter Stark is an adventurer, historian, and author. After receiving his M.A. in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin, Stark was a reporter at The Missoulian newspaper. He then became a freelance magazine writer specializing in adventure-travel. His work has appeared in Outside, Smithsonian, The New York Times Magazine, and others. His first book, "Last Breath: Cautionary Tales from the Limits of Human Endurance," was published in 2001.
