Richard Schoch is a professor of drama at Queen’s University Belfast and a scholar of theatre history and Shakespeare in performance. He served as principal investigator for the research project Performing Restoration Shakespeare, which examined how Shakespeare’s plays were adapted and staged during the Restoration period. Schoch has published widely on British and American theatre, including studies of Shakespearean performance, nineteenth century drama, and transatlantic stage culture. His work combines archival research with performance analysis to explore how historical contexts shape theatrical production and interpretation.
