Originally from Scarborough, Rob moved to Thailand in December 2021, via 22 years in London and over 25 visits to Thailand for cricket and holidays.
He was immediately interested in Thai football, though he had to wait until 2010 - 6 years after his first time in the Land of Smiles - to see his first game, thanks to delays caused by volcanic ash!
Rob loves groundhopping and watching any games. The Yorkshireman has now attended over 2,100 matches at 719 different venues - including 78 around Thailand - and still counting.
Rob has a couple of blogs, 'Hopping Around the World', and 'Hopping Around The World, Two', charting his adventures. He tries to remain open minded and watch both teams playing in a game, as he has paid to see both.
Over the years, he has been a co-commentator at Scarborough Athletic games, worked as a steward at several venues, and been head MC at multiple cricket events in this part of the world.
He now spends his time between Bangkok, Sisaket, and many places far and wide, learning about, and integrating with, the local culture and travelling with his wonderful wife.
