Dr. Robert D. Hicks is a science historian. He is Director of the F.C. Wood Institute for the History of Medicine at The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, where he also holds the William Maul Measey Chair. Previously, he was Director of the Mütter Museum and The College of Physicians Historical Medical Library.
Dr. Hicks has written three books, contributed to a dozen others, and published many articles.
Hicks received his B.A. in Anthropology and Archeology and his M.A. in Applied Anthropology from the University of Arizona, and his Ph.D. in Maritime History from the University of Exeter.
