Dr. Robert James Spitzer is a political scientist, commentator, and author. Currently, he is a Professor of Political Science at the State University of New York Cortland.
Spitzer has published over 600 scholarly articles, book chapters, reviews, papers, and essays. He has published fifteen books, including four on the presidency, and five on gun control, and he is Series Editor for the Book Series on American Constitutionalism published by SUNY Press.
Spitzer has testified before Congress, participated in meetings at the White House, and has had his work cited by federal courts.
Spitzer received his B.A. in Political Science and Government from State University of New York Fredonia, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Cornell University.
