Robert S. Tucker is the 35th New York City Fire Commissioner, a lifelong New Yorker who grew up in Manhattan and built a career at the intersection of law, public safety, and city administration. He earned his undergraduate degree from George Washington University and attended Pace University School of Law at night while serving as special assistant to the late Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown. In that role, Tucker developed extensive connections with senior leadership of the NYPD, city administration, and federal agencies including the FBI and U.S. Secret Service, experience that informs his leadership of the FDNY.
