Rúben Filipe Marques Amorim (born 27 January 1985) is a Portuguese professional football manager and former midfielder who is head coach of Manchester United. As a player, he represented Belenenses and Benfica, winning ten major trophies with the latter, including three Primeira Liga titles, five Taças da Liga, the Taça de Portugal, and the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, while also earning 14 caps for Portugal and appearing in two FIFA World Cups. After retiring in 2017, he began coaching at Casa Pia before moving to Braga, where he won the 2020 Taça da Liga. Appointed Sporting CP manager in 2020, he became one of the most highly regarded Portuguese coaches of his generation, guiding the club to the 2020–21 league and cup double, ending a 19-year championship drought, and securing another league title in 2023–24, with two Primeira Liga Manager of the Year awards to his name before joining Manchester United in late 2024.
