Ryan is originally from Florida but grew up in Tennessee. He moved to Chicago four years ago with his husband Nic. Ryan was in the restaurant business for almost 20 years but was laid off at the beginning of the pandemic and decided to pursue his passion of music and start Pop Music For Smart People a weekly music podcast. He also has two beautiful pups named Ollivander and Marsha P. Johnson.
