Safa Joudeh is a postdoctoral scholar at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies, University of Exeter. Her research focuses on the implications of Chinese infrastructure deployment and industrial capacity cooperation programs for host countries in the Middle East. Positioned at the intersection of policy, political economy, and critical economic geography, Joudeh explores China’s maritime infrastructure projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
