Sanam Maher is a freelance journalist based in Karachi, an author, and a feminist. Maher has contributed to Express Tribune, Dawn, Al-Jazeera, The New York Times, Buzzfeed, The Guardian, The Scroll, and Roads and Kingdoms. She writes about Pakistani culture, business, politics, women, and minority rights. For a short time, she reported on the conflict in the region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Maher's first book, "The Sensational Life of Qandeel Baloch," was published in 2018. Her second book, "A Woman Like Her," was published in 2019.
