I am currently the Chief Strategy Officer at Finless Foods, where we work together to build a future for seafood where the ocean thrives. I’m inspired by the dynamic opportunity to reshape our interaction with the ocean by expanding the way we think about, and consume, seafood.I’ve built my expertise and career around a passion for implementing policies and systems that strengthen our fisheries, protect endangered species, and sustain a healthy ocean. My studies began with a B.S. in Political Science from Santa Clara University followed by a J.D. in Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School. I first put this education to action through positions at the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the US Government (NOAA), various NGOs, and as an international consultant and technical ocean policy expert, helping groups from the US, Asia, and Africa maximize policy impact. This dual passion for catalyzing systems change through innovation and policy is what led me to Finless Foods. As CSO, I work collaboratively with ocean conservation experts, seafood industry representatives, the FFDA, and strategic partners like the Alliance for Meat, Poultry, and Seafood Innovation (AMPS) to best achieve Finless’s foodservice operator goals and help industry actors understand the researched impact potential of cell-cultured and plant-based seafood. When I’m not working, I love to spend time hiking in the mountains near the Bay, and I also volunteer my time with local and global environmental causes.
