Shirley Wang is a writer, freelance radio journalist, and producer whose work focuses on immigrant communities and how race and generational differences tie into family dynamics. She produces in-depth and emotional pieces with standout characters around issues of everyday life.
Wang's writing has appeared in 99 Percent Invisible, NPR, The Washington Post, the New York Times, NBC, Popula and Chinese-language newspaper The World Journal.
Previously, Wang worked for NPR Iowa Public Radio. She interned for WGBH in Boston. She has produced, hosted and edited three independent podcasts.
Wang received her B.A. in Anthropology from Tufts University.
