Soniya Gokhale is an Indian American woman whose full-time role is in Finance at a Fortune 50. With a background in broadcast journalism and a deep desire to 'Be the Change' in the world as it pertains to women's empowerment, gender & racial bias, patriarchy and other critically important human rights issues, she launched A Desi Woman Podcast and the associated website. In today's media landscape, it is challenging to find platforms that adequately shine a spotlight on South Asian narratives, stories and thought leadership so she decided to create one that connects the South Asian Diaspora & Global community across geographies, time zones, socioeconomic barriers, caste, class and religion. Through her full-time work at one of the biggest global companies on the planet, Soniya seeks to amplify South Asian voices and stories to offer connectedness, community, hope and inspiration to a global community. Her personal life's journey has been forever changed since the project launched. The thought leaders whom she has been so privileged to meet have unabashedly shared their narratives, perspectives and powerful voices about overcoming obstacles and issues facing South Asians in communities around the world.
