Sophie Willan is a comedian, writer, and actor.
Willan was raised in Bolton, England, in foster care, as her mother was a heroin addict. Later, she worked as a sex worker. She transformed her experiences into her comedy show "Branded," for which she won a Herald Angel award in 2017 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Willan has appeared on television in the Channel 4 reality series "The Circle" and on the BBC sitcom "Still Open All Hours." Her first book, "Tales of the Weird, the Wild and the Wonderful," a collection of stories for children in foster care, was published in 2017.
