Steph Edusei has been Chief Executive of St. Oswald’s Hospice since May 2020 and is also a Non-Executive Director of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Steph was also appointed to the board of the North East England Chamber of Commerce in February 2022 and is a member of their Race, Equality and Discrimination commission. Alongside this, Steph has been a strong supporter of her local community. She has been a leader with Girlguiding UK for over 30 years and a school governor, and is a trustee with The Angelou Centre, a black-led women’s charity based in Newcastle which offers training, counselling and refuge support. She is also a dance teacher at Newcastle Dance Centre. She has developed a passion for involvement of public and patients and is a strong advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion. Steph speaks publicly on racism and gender discrimination, and provides coaching and mentoring support to women and people from minoritised communities. Steph was named Transformational Leader in the Northern Power Women Awards 2022.
