In this episode, Chad Muncy interviews Steve Fredlund. For 30 years, Steve brought clarity and innovative analytical solutions to several large corporations (Allianz, Medtronic, Thrivent, 3M). Steve holds a degree in mathematics and an MBA with emphasis in nonprofit management; He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and certified in Strategic Workforce Planning. Steve's most prolific roles included actuarial, capital markets hedging, and workforce analytics. However, even through a very successful working career and the many listed accolades, Steve suffered from something that is now being called high functioning anxiety. A very common condition where people that have apparently normal and successful or normal lives, have extreme, long spouts of anxiety. This caused steve to go through moments of torment where he would sit in his car and cry before entering work. Steve goes into depth about what he learned through this terrible experience and tells us how to live with a passion and go after the success that brings us joy. In late 2009, Steve also co-founded Our Response, a non-profit focused on improving the quality of life for communities in northern Rwanda. As volunteer Executive Director, he led four trips to Rwanda and raised more than $2 million to move these areas toward self-sustainability. He also served on six nonprofit boards, helping all of them develop a clear and compelling vision with aligned strategies.Steve and his wife Tracy have three grown children. He loves playing and teaching poker, podcasting, enjoying Minnesota sports, and hanging out with family and friends; especially if it gives me the opportunity to learn more about each other. For more information or to contact Steve Fredlund:https://stevefredlund.com/Listen to more episodes:www.businessstorypodcast.com/podcastShare your own story:www.businessstorypodcast.com/mystoryEnter to win our monthly giveaway:www.businessstorypodcast.com/subscribeFind us onFacebook:www.facebook.com/businessstorypodcastInstagram:www.instagram.com/businessstorypodcast/Facebook Group:www.facebook.com/groups/successseekersgroup
