Steve served as a volunteer firefighter/EMT for eight years, in both NC & NY, until an injury forced him to retire. However, he always kept his keen interest in the fire service. In 1999, along with several partners, he founded Dalmatian Productions, initially, to produce reality-type TV programs about the fire service and since 2016, has been working to sell a pilot script for a limited series dramatic show about the Philadelphia Fire Dept.He is also a Florida State Fire Instructor, and presents his class on firefighter health and wellness, "The Elephant in the Firehouse" at regional fire conferences.
