Welcome, welcome, welcome to episode 286 of the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip! A grand chat this week with standup comic, show host and mate of Guz Khan, it’s TEZ ILYAS!“let them come on the journey...”Hitting on many angles this week of all things comedy, shows, politics, geography and race, Pip and Tez go full on at all this and more from the comfort of a hotel room. I wonder how many hotel rooms are being used as makeshift podcast studios right now… Anyway - awesome stuff as Tez drops science upon so much - Guz’s ‘Man Like Mobeen’, his own ‘Tez O’ Clock’ show, Fringe experiences be they good or bad, hitting it off with Pip on Twitter (the platform upon which they both go IN on later on in the podcast!), being a very proficient dancer, the immigrant mentality, being exposed to middle class white Britain, reading ahead of his level but plateauing, joining a standup comedy course, developing those comedy chops over time, letting people make the leap with references and the art of relatability, his stint in the home office, wokeness and politics, achievement trumping politics in the Asian community, his friendship with Guz and working relationship, the importance of finding good people to work with and the camaraderie that is needed, and whether it’s possible to develop a pro-Brexit monologue for his own show! Rammed. You’ll love it.Pip's Outro Thoughts: how ace this week was – the return of Frank Turner!EPISODE LINKS:• TEZ on TWITTER• TEZ on THE INTERNET• The Tez O' Clock Show• Man Like Mobeen• Tez's TEDX talk!THIS EPISODES SPIRIT ANIMALS:• DPP #264 • Nish Kumar• DPP #185 • Guz KhanLINKS FOR SCROOBIUS PIP & SPEECH DEVELOPMENT:• SCROOBIUS PIP on TWITTER!• SCROOBIUS PIP on INSTAGRAM!• SCROOBIUS PIP on PATREON!• POD BIBLE!• SPEECH DEVELOPMENT RECORDS • DISTRACTION PIECES NETWORK on FACEBOOK• DISTRACTION PIECES NETWORK on INSTAGRAM• NEW LISTENERS TAKE NOTE • You can find the full DISTRACTION PIECES episode list HERE!  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
