Tim Samuelson was the first and only Cultural Historian for the City of Chicago, until his retirement in 2020. Prior to becoming Chicago's City Historian, Samuelson was the Director of the Chicago Architectural Preservation Archive. He has also worked at the Chicago History Museum. Sullivan's first book, "Louis Sullivan’s Idea," was published in 2021.
