A fine-dining restaurant with voluminous winelist and a Fabulous Fijian manager who made that very young man feel at ease with labels he couldn’t read, or pronounce, It was a warm, judgemental free and fun-filled welcome (Bula) to the world of wine. It’s proven hard to leave. Four decades later, he’s travelled the world. Wine-writing for print, radio and tv, hosting educating, creating winelists and celebrating the relentlessly hospitable vibe of wine people.
