Tommy Young is a radio broadcasting student at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. He has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes for 16 years, having been hospitalized just one month after his third birthday in May of 2007. Despite this, he has decided to live life the way he wants to live. Never one to let diabetes keep him down, you can often find him around a hockey rink, either off the ice wearing a snappy suit, or on the ice in his goalie gear. When he's not stopping pucks with his forehead (to the chagrin of his mother), he enjoys talking about sports, reading books, or playing video games with his friends. A self-proclaimed nerd, he will often be lost into a book set in the Halo video game universe, or sixteen pages deep in a spreadsheet of hockey statistics.
