Victoria N. Bateman (born 1979, née Powell) is a British feminist economist and academic known for her work in economic history and her outspoken advocacy on social and political issues. She is a fellow and Director of Studies in Economics at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and holds master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Oxford after completing her undergraduate studies at Cambridge. Her research explores the role of markets in economic development and how women’s rights and freedoms contribute to economic growth. Beyond academia, she is recognized for her public protests supporting women’s rights and opposing Brexit.
