Vinny Appice is an American rock drummer best known for his work with the bands Dio, Black Sabbath, and Heaven & Hell.
Vinny was part of John Lennon’s backing band for John’s last performance. He also played with Rick Derringer (3 LPs) and played with Black Sabbath and Dio throughout his career, on some of both band’s biggest albums Vinny talks about working with John Lennon, Rick Derringer, Tony Iommi and Vivian Campbell… turning down Ozzy’s solo project and then getting the call to replace Bill Ward in Black Sabbath, just a short time later… the first & last song (30 years later) Vinny played with Ronnie James Dio (it was the same song!).
