Wyatt Mason is a journalist, essayist, critic, and translator. Currently, he is a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine. He also teaches writing at Bard College, where he is a Writer in Residence and a Senior Fellow of The Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and the Humanities.
From 2005 to 2017, Mason was a contributing editor at Harper's Magazine, where he wrote the blog "Sentences." He has also written for The New York Review of Books, The New Republic, The New Yorker, Esquire, GQ and The London Review of Books. He taught in the graduate writing program at Bennington College from 2009 to 2011.
