Danielle Elliott says it's a lot more difficult for teachers to engage with special needs students remotely. "My son does struggle with ADHD," she says. "I would think it'd almost be easier when my child gets distracted to just hit the mute button [...] and disable the camera."

Young children and special needs students are confused with the new setting. Who would blame them? Their respective parents are struggling as well with Zoom, Microsoft Team, and whatever other application used to schedule classes/meetings/conference calls. The lack of social interaction is depressing and nothing can compensate for the joy of hanging out with friends on school grounds.
