Let's peel back the layers of a cyber-attack. Increasingly it starts with fake news.

Dis-information is part of the cyber-attack delivery package used to deliver malware. And how? The tried-and-true method of manipulating people's fears and heightened emotion. It's been used throughout time in elections notably in 2016, it was discovered that Russia used Facebook and hacking techniques to promote Donald Trump.

We saw it also firsthand in the pandemic. Conspiracy theories raged about the efficacy of certain vaccines. Technology has changed the playing field. There is no one quick fix, but there is one thing the experts do agree on: Disinformation and cyber security need to be addressed.

In this episode, we’re joined by Kevin Newman, the award-winning journalist and the host of the Attention Control podcast.

And Greg Markel, the CEO of Ridge Canada, Cyber Solutions, a company founded by Tom Ridge, who served as the first US Secretary of Homeland Security.
