1:26

we were talking about the Philadelphia Eagles

1:28

having a non drama off season. Uh

1:30

oh, they line up Davante

1:33

Smith, they give him his extension. They've

1:35

added a couple other extensions this offseason.

1:38

Just all systems go in Philadelphia.

1:41

Meanwhile, you start to take a look around the division.

1:43

We mentioned the Dallas Cowboys with some issues.

1:46

New York Giants apparently have some issues because

1:49

they've got a quarterback coming back from injury.

1:51

There's the potential and there's been rumblings that they

1:54

might draft his replacement because they're

1:56

sitting there with the six overall picks should

1:58

somebody fall to them or they want to move up. And then

2:00

Daniel Jones was asked yesterday

2:02

by the media about not only

2:05

his recovery, but the possibility

2:07

of there being a replacement arriving

2:10

with the draft coming up here next week. How

2:12

are you doing in your rehabit and where do things

2:14

stand.

2:15

Rehab's going well, making good progress

2:17

coming along. You spent a lot of time

2:19

with the trainers here and shrink

2:22

staff, so I feel like things are going well

2:24

and yeah, coming along. Well, hey

2:26

Daniel, And so then just to build on that, have they

2:28

given you a target date of when.

2:30

You think you could be fully cleared? Yeah?

2:32

I mean the plan is to be ready to go by training

2:34

camp.

2:34

So yeah, that's what I'm shooting for and

2:37

feel good about being ready.

2:38

It doesn't really feel like that long

2:40

ago to me that we were asking Eli this

2:43

question, But now we're asking you this question.

2:45

How would you feel if the Giants

2:48

choose their first round pick on

2:50

a quarterback and have they looped you in

2:52

at all to the possibility that they might

2:54

do that and you know, bringing a challenger

2:57

for your job?

3:00

Uh?

3:00

Yeah, I mean, you know, my focus is

3:02

is what I'm doing here with my with my rehab.

3:06

You know, kind of the same thing with Saquan. It's,

3:08

uh, you know, the nature of our

3:11

of our business. It's a competitive

3:14

league. So you know the best

3:17

way to handle that, I think is to

3:19

focus on on what I'm doing, focus on

3:21

myself and making sure that i'm you know,

3:23

one healthy and then ready to play good

3:25

football. So you know, that's

3:27

what I can control. That's what

3:30

what I can do to to help myself.

3:32

So he gonna cry in the car, what do you mean

3:36

what do you mean? You know, that's Friday,

3:38

that's a Friday reference, But.

3:40

I mean that's like that hit that kind of hit him,

3:42

in my opinion, kind of hit him like on the emotional

3:44

side. He starts saying, ah, too much.

3:47

That's how I know it got him. Like he didn't

3:49

really want to answer it.

3:51

It was an uncomfortable question to have

3:53

to answer. You know, I have writings

3:56

on the wall.

3:57

He sounds like a good dude, and it sounds,

3:59

you know, like that this is gonna be disappointing

4:01

and obviously upsetting if they do draft a quarterback

4:03

because in today's NFL, the running's in the wall.

4:06

Yea, you know, they go and draft guy, especially

4:08

where they are at six or even if they move up, you

4:11

know that guy not only is he gonna get a first crack

4:13

at it, because he's gonna get all the reps. Ye

4:16

he'll be there for everything that comes up this offseason

4:18

before training camp, so he'll be able to build

4:21

some momentum heading into camp. And you know,

4:23

it's just a matter of time. Even if

4:25

Daniel Jones comes back and looks

4:27

good in training camp, where he's a bridge

4:29

to whenever the rookie's ready or

4:32

whenever they need to play the rookie if

4:34

that's the direction that they go. So it's

4:38

tough to be able to hear those questions. And

4:41

unfortunately for Daniel Jones,

4:43

between you know, play and injury,

4:45

he just hasn't worked out I think the way he had hoped

4:47

to at this point. But that doesn't

4:50

mean I mean again, if they don't go quarterback

4:52

at six, I mean,

4:54

there's nothing that stops him to take him the second

4:56

third round. But I would

4:58

say I don't know that there's a sense of urge and seed

5:00

to move on from him this year. I

5:03

think he's got to be on the roster because of

5:05

the contract extension that he signed

5:07

that the Giants signed him to. But after

5:10

that, that's more of the reality and the concern

5:12

of he's probably if he is playing,

5:14

not playing for the long term of the Giants, he's

5:17

probably playing for his career

5:19

at his time in the NFL for every other team out

5:21

there that might need a quarterback in the future.

5:24

What did the Giants do this offseason other

5:27

than let say Kwan go like

5:29

what what did they do anything of significance

5:32

to their team and

5:34

the defense? Yeah,

5:37

I just I think if you look

5:39

at this this team right

5:41

now and how they're

5:43

configured, would you would

5:46

you look at him as being, you

5:49

know, a team like they what they

5:51

got running I'll.

5:53

Give you the answer.

5:53

They brought in Jalen Mills, Jordan Phillips,

5:55

and Brian Burns to all be starters

5:58

on defense. They brought running in at

6:00

the right guard spot. I'll see el

6:03

Manure is the right tackle.

6:07

But the interesting thing is they took Neil there

6:10

a couple of years ago. I know it hasn't gone well, but maybe

6:12

he's got a shot. Austin Schloman has

6:14

played some time too. Aaron

6:16

Stinney. I mean, they're really trying to shure

6:18

up the offensive line. And then

6:20

Devin single Den Singletary

6:22

got brought into their running back after Saquon and

6:25

then Drew Locks now their backup. So they've

6:27

kind of kind of build up in some

6:29

some different spots where they're trying to, you

6:32

know, essentially prepare for I think the addition

6:34

of a quarterback and a wide receiver.

6:37

I think it's a pretty good off season

6:39

if you ask me. But

6:42

I still, if I'm New

6:44

York, I still have a very moderate

6:46

sense of this being a

6:48

year that they become competitive.

6:52

And I know Dave Ball had a pretty good year's

6:54

first year, but playoffs,

6:56

yeah, I just don't. I don't know that they

6:59

are are overnight after

7:02

the season they had last year, especially

7:04

with the loss of Saquon I

7:06

don't think Singletary replaces

7:08

that production.

7:09

For one.

7:10

And if you don't take a quarterback,

7:13

even if you do take a quarterback, I don't

7:15

I don't know that you're bringing in a guy,

7:17

whether it's Daniel Jones or that draft of QB

7:20

and they're going to be that much of a difference.

7:23

It has to be the other parts that

7:26

that create the sum for this Giants

7:28

team.

7:28

If they were picking in the top three, they're drafting a quarterback

7:31

because I think they say they have to, I think they

7:33

would be I think they're they're picking too

7:35

far out.

7:35

They're going to take the best player.

7:38

The point that I'm trying to make is if

7:40

you're gonna if you're going to draft a quarterback,

7:42

you might as well draft a court. If you feel

7:45

like you got your guy in this draft at your pick,

7:47

you might as well take that quarterback. Because

7:49

either way, I think that this is

7:51

a year that it's

7:53

going to be a building year. You're building

7:56

towards something. I don't see them being

7:58

this, this elite team that's going to

8:00

win the NFC East and go contend in

8:02

the playoffs. Now I could be wrong,

8:04

but if I'm looking at it from the logic

8:07

of this is a team that I'm not necessarily sure

8:09

is going to be a dominant team in the

8:11

NFL, then you might as well use this

8:13

as a buildout year, and you can

8:15

look at it from both perspectives. I'll use Daniel

8:18

Jones if he's healthy enough until

8:20

we were not using him anymore, he.

8:22

Can play his way out of the position.

8:24

Or we bring in a rookie and we start

8:27

him right away, or we played Daniel Jones

8:29

and if he you know, if the rookies ready to go,

8:31

we play the russ. I think you just got a lot

8:33

of opportunity.

8:36

I'd say a lot of options

8:38

just based upon this not being this. Isn't

8:41

like a team that just made it to the Super

8:43

Bowl and came up short. They

8:45

still got some moves to make, They

8:47

still got some some space to

8:49

catch up on to close down. If

8:51

you ask me, yeah, I.

8:53

Was gonna say, do you feel like the loss of Saquon is

8:55

going to be huge for the Chi.

8:57

I mean they've they've had an opportunity to see, but

9:00

it's like playing without him because

9:02

of some of the injuries that he has sustained.

9:04

But that offense went through Sakuon

9:07

Barkley, it did, and you

9:09

lose that. Does that make them better

9:11

or does that make them worse? I can't say that makes them

9:13

better. I don't think Again, I don't think that Singletary

9:16

replaces that production that you got out of

9:19

out of sa Quon. So what safety

9:21

valve do you have if you can't get it done in the passing

9:23

game?

9:23

I thought it was interesting.

9:24

You know, he didn't even average seven yards rushing

9:27

per game last year. I

9:29

mean I missed three games too. You

9:31

know, if you're if you're looking at you

9:33

know his his time spent with

9:35

the Giants. I mean, he only had one season

9:38

where he was fully healthy and able to play

9:40

all sixteen games. Now, granted, I

9:42

think they rested him before the

9:45

twenty twenty two years when I went to the playoffs, but

9:48

you know, he's always kind of missing some time. And even

9:50

the yards per teen were down a little bit last year,

9:52

which probably had more to do with the quarterback situation

9:55

stack boxes than anything

9:57

else, you know, running up hill, but it

10:00

might be more of a you know,

10:02

if you're looking at the value that Saquon

10:04

was looking for getting paid in the contract and

10:07

what he's you know, what he was looking at, you

10:09

know, trying to try to do on the field. I

10:12

think, you know, Singletary and they're running

10:14

back more, maybe by committee with Gary Brightwell,

10:16

and they might even go with a running back at some point

10:19

in this year's draft. It

10:21

might be just as good and more economical

10:23

for them, you know, especially.

10:24

If they made the decision.

10:26

But that doesn't give your quarterback any

10:29

real comfort. I would

10:31

say, I think it is going to come

10:33

down to how the quarterback plays, because

10:35

if.

10:35

You look at what they did,

10:38

they've basically saying we'd rather spend

10:40

the money on building up our offensive line that

10:42

spend it on one player running back.

10:44

And I don't disagree with that that frame

10:46

of mind, because it hasn't worked. I

10:48

mean, it hasn't whatever it is they thought

10:50

that was going to happen with the experiment with this

10:52

team and with Saquon, it hasn't worked. So

10:55

I mean, it'll be interesting to see what

10:58

that looks like this year and with who's

11:00

that quarterback? Because just like in and well,

11:03

just like in Minnesota, in Minnesota,

11:06

New Salta, Minnesota, you get rid of

11:08

your running back and you were going to

11:10

put you were going to put that pressure

11:12

on on Kirk Cousins

11:14

and he was delivering right you.

11:16

And in Denver you put that pressure on

11:18

on Russell Wilson and he wasn't

11:21

And and it's just kind of like for me, I

11:23

don't know. I don't know that you should

11:25

have the confidence and and Daniel Jones

11:28

to be the one that can carry that team

11:30

purely on his arm.

11:32

I think the hard part is you don't have Justin

11:35

Jefferson and Jordan Addison on your roster

11:37

with the Giants, you know you do in

11:39

Minnesota. And that's the I don't

11:41

think they're that far off, you know. I think if you look

11:43

at Wandelle Robinson, who has definitely

11:46

flashed as a slot. You know, Jalen

11:48

Hyatt's got a lot of speed, Darius

11:50

Slayton's had his moments. If you provide

11:52

a number one, a true number

11:55

one, to that group, then.

11:56

I think you've got something.

11:58

It's why I feel like everyone thinks that

12:00

the Giants are taking a quarterback at six. I

12:03

don't think they want to move to

12:05

take that quarterback though, So unless that guy drops

12:07

to them, I think they're gonna go with the wide receiver.

12:10

Like I wouldn't be shocked at all if it wasn't potentially

12:12

Milik Neighbors. Yeah, because I think Marvin Harrison Junior

12:14

will be gone by then.

12:15

He is the favorite to go to the Giants.

12:18

Sitting at six. Is Milik Neighbors

12:20

sitting at plus one five courtesy

12:22

of DraftKings. So that's the

12:25

projection there for the

12:27

Giants at number six.

12:28

But the next year's quarterback class look

12:30

like is it good?

12:33

I would say it's not as good as this one though.

12:37

Let me ask you this.

12:38

If JJ McCarthy did fall and is

12:40

sitting there at six, have they taking him?

12:42

Yeah?

12:43

I mean that might be a scenario where they take him, you

12:45

know, where they like what they see. I think the

12:47

other curveball to all

12:49

of this is Darren Waller. Yeah,

12:51

there's a conversation about him maybe not even coming

12:53

back and playing, and

12:56

you'd have to say, he's.

12:57

Your most explosive offensive player.

13:00

And could you be in a scenario where let's say someone

13:02

falls you and you'd rather just get through this year with Daniel

13:05

Jones and if he's not there,

13:07

then Drew Locke maybe gets a shot at it. Right you signed

13:09

him in the offseason, Maybe you trade

13:11

back and what I was if you took a player like

13:13

brock Bowers, who it might sound crazy,

13:16

but you trade back far enough you get some more picks.

13:18

You know, maybe you had a couple of players in the first round

13:21

and you're getting a guy who's going to be able to replace

13:23

what you could be losing to Darren Waller. Like

13:25

that situation for the Giants, as

13:27

far as had to go about game planning and looking at playmakers,

13:31

has to be concerning at this point, not knowing what Waller's

13:33

gonna do.

13:34

That would be a gutsy ass move and

13:36

I would love it.

13:37

Yeah, but could you also imagine if Waller does come

13:39

back, you have Waller and brock Bowers.

13:42

Yeah, that'd be nasty.

13:45

Now, Like maybe I mean, and you could

13:47

find another wide receiver in the second round. You

13:49

know, it's kind of been where they've been drafting too, But

13:51

that'd be a nasty, nasty duo

13:54

to have to go up against.

13:55

Speaking of odds, there's been a major

13:58

change at the number two, then number

14:00

two.

14:01

Excuse me call

14:03

waiting there.

14:03

We've still got the Drake Man, uh Jade

14:06

and Daniels now a minus two seventy

14:08

five to go number two to

14:11

potentially the Washington Commando.

14:13

What was the major change? He's been the favorite for a while

14:15

now. The change would have been Drake May going.

14:17

To the favorite.

14:17

It was minus one sixty Oh

14:20

okay, now.

14:22

Seventy okay, so gotcha,

14:24

Jayden.

14:25

Major change there, Jayden Daniels.

14:27

Major major change. So he went for a favorite.

14:30

You know what, I bet live Bet Jesus A

14:32

couple of.

14:34

Yeah, I mean live Bet Jesus ain't coming anywhere

14:36

near this show until he gets the respect.

14:38

His is that because he lost the last time he came on.

14:40

Here, lost and

14:42

in large part because it was your fault.

14:44

Lee.

14:45

I want to make sure you keep Tabu tabs

14:47

on this Ian. Roddy was in for you,

14:49

Friday. I believe as you're going to your Jimmy

14:51

Buffett you know, Tribute World Tour or whatever

14:53

it.

14:54

Was, and uh Live bet Jesus

14:56

showed up and lost again.

14:57

Really okay, to be clear, probably

15:00

didn't want to actually show up, but was pressured

15:03

into it.

15:04

And the odd thing was that you picked the Tiger

15:07

over Max Holma, who I

15:09

believe almost hold out by the way for like Eagle

15:12

to win via Birdie.

15:14

Yet all those guys that plus us, I.

15:15

Think it was Jason Day if I'm not mistaken,

15:18

I picked.

15:19

Yeah, and I thought you picked Tiger Woods.

15:22

Listen, whoever it was, what do you mean he did

15:24

it?

15:25

Was?

15:25

It would lie bet Jesus that did it?

15:27

Yeah, I think that's I'm pretty sure

15:29

that's who he picked. Again, Like you

15:31

guys, come to me as if I have some sort of intel

15:33

on this.

15:34

Read whatever the bet is.

15:36

Listen, it falls down on the desk. I read it.

15:38

I don't know what to tell you it is.

15:40

The point is there's other loss. Also,

15:45

is Eddie around? Can I ask Eddie just a random

15:47

question? I

15:49

want to know how in hockey they

15:52

get the squids into the rink. Have

15:55

you ever seen that way they throw squids?

15:57

It is an octopus? Just this mockers.

16:00

Yeah, okay, I would

16:02

guess they they wrap

16:04

it in some sort of plastic wrap

16:06

or something and then probably

16:08

put it in their pants.

16:10

Okay, Okay,

16:13

I mean, and I'm going I.

16:14

Thought that was is that you have a

16:17

completely different direction just.

16:20

Went yeah, I mean, uh, I mean talk about

16:22

taking a chance, like, oh my gosh,

16:24

you smell you smell that person

16:27

next to me. The smell like I

16:29

mean like octopus.

16:31

Yeah, I was going to use the nickname for

16:33

it, but yeah.

16:34

Now you've got to like and

16:37

if you're going to do.

16:37

That, it's probably like what in God's name are they talking about?

16:40

And if you're going to do that, depending on the size of the octopus,

16:44

like, you're probably gonna need some trousers that have

16:46

some elastic on the ankle so that weight doesn't

16:48

fall out.

16:48

Of the bottom.

16:49

It could be it could be you know, some sort

16:52

of inside pocket I guess of a coat something

16:54

like that.

16:54

But uh, you know, yeah, you definitely.

16:56

Let us security notice that

16:59

checking.

16:59

Like, yeah, they're they're checking. You know they've got.

17:03

That.

17:04

Really, I'm not going to frisk or anything like that.

17:06

The last thing I'll ask is, how do you know you're

17:08

gonna use it? If you're a fan? Why does it get your

17:10

butt.

17:11

Kicked and you go cook

17:13

it? Yeah? Take it home?

17:16

You mean that octopus that will sitting in your pants

17:19

for about two and a half hours or a game.

17:20

I mean yeah, I mean it was just sitting there when it

17:23

was in the water, and

17:27

well, do.

17:27

He's alive then? Though like a natural

17:30

filtration.

17:31

It didn't didn't work last night.

17:32

Though it did work last night.

17:34

I'm just I'm wondering, though, I want to talk to a fan that

17:37

is like, yeah, I wrapped up a

17:39

squid, snuck it in there, and we got killed

17:41

octopus.

17:42

So if you are.

17:46

So, if you are sneaking an octopus in your

17:48

pants, like when you go to use

17:50

the urinol, is it noticeable,

17:53

like, oh, you had one of your pants too, because

17:55

the smell, I would assume when.

17:56

It comes up out of the pants, that

17:59

thing probably comes up. See

18:02

the fumes.

18:04

Jonahs would try to be to use one of the tentacles.

18:11

Start throwing up all over the place. Hey

18:13

you see this hangnail I got.

18:15

Yeah, it's just disgusting, And

18:17

I don't know how people do it. By the way,

18:19

I wonder if security sees it and goes, all right,

18:22

you know, we'll look.

18:23

It's possible you get the right security person.

18:25

There's no way.

18:26

By the way, the octopus one of the weirdest

18:28

creatures on the planet by.

18:30

Far, and it looks even weirder

18:32

when it's on the ice. I'm sorry, squid

18:35

just it's easy to say squid than octopus.

18:37

Have you seen have you seen the

18:39

uh like videos of when they'll

18:41

catch an octopus on a boat and it'll

18:44

squeeze its way through the bottom of the boat

18:46

on a little crack underneath, like

18:48

it'll take its entire body and just work its

18:50

way through. How it looks

18:52

on your parts, Yeah,

18:55

I am imagining.

18:57

Trust me, you take what you

19:00

can get on this show sunk suction.

19:04

And you probably don't think we were going there today, did you?

19:07

No?

19:07

I thought so, Yeah I thought so. Oh really yeah, I could

19:09

see that coming.

19:10

Okay, nice, all right, well.

19:12

Thanks for partaking it alright.

19:16

Then, by the way, Calamari overrated.

19:18

No, it's not.

19:19

Yeah, that's not true.

19:20

It's really not.

19:21

That's not true, especially like the

19:23

little tentacle parts. That's

19:26

the best part.

19:28

Yeah, you're talking about you. You probably a fry though.

19:30

I do. Have you had calm steak?

19:33

Yes, I have. Your's like a real thick slab

19:35

of it. Yeah, it's nice, it's pretty

19:37

good. I've had it. Not I've had

19:39

it not fried.

19:40

Q, I've had it like a garlic

19:42

sauce. The tentacles though, when they're not covered

19:45

up.

19:46

Yeah.

19:47

I like them either way. I just

19:49

like them. Tentacles. Boy, I tell you I take them.

19:52

No Diddy, Oh jeez, no Diddy.

19:54

Okay, no doubt.

19:56

Okay, all right, there

There we go, There

21:04

we go. That

21:11

wasn't a high enough octave. No,

21:16

there you go. That's

21:19

that Friday night, Saturday night fire

21:23

pit music. Yeah.

21:25

I would have never known this if I hadn't become

21:27

a Californian. I

21:31

bang with these songs now though, because

21:33

I got a ton of Mexican friends.

21:38

They're all across the street right now. I mean they're

21:42

finishing up, they're getting close to finishing up.

21:44

But they'd be having their music going lasting

21:48

impact on your life. That would be the same.

21:50

Well, who the

21:54

people working across the street.

21:55

Yeah, okay, my in laws

21:59

they're not in You

22:01

never know, man, small world.

22:04

No, it's a big family, it

22:08

is. I'm telling you, I like,

22:10

I can't I can't begin to tell you how many

22:12

Yeah, so and so?

22:13

Uh? Who's that my cousin? All

22:16

right? Which one? Like?

22:17

You got a first cousin, second cousins,

22:20

cousins of cousins like it just the whole thing is

22:22

is a bit much, but big family. Just

22:25

like we have a big family here. Two pros and a cup of

22:27

Joe on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, coming up

22:29

in a little over fifteen minutes from now, Brady

22:32

Quinn's favorite segment here on the show every single.

22:34

Week, another edition when

22:37

you rather? And I have no idea

22:39

what sort of would you rather? We're gonna get?

22:41

Where lead the Lap puts together some random

22:44

questions and throws them at us and we got approve

22:47

jonas well. No, personally,

22:49

you know that's not true. Secondly, oh, I

22:51

know it's true.

22:52

That's kind of true.

22:53

I know it's no everything.

22:55

It's different when you're not here and we do

22:57

it right.

22:57

So Lee comes up with stuff like would

23:00

you rather die? Or take a crap? It's

23:02

like, rather

23:04

know that you're going to die? Or how you're

23:06

going to die? Would be would you rather

23:09

die on the toilet or die in the bath? So it's

23:11

like, just you go like, I don't

23:13

come up with that stuff. It's too morbid. That's

23:15

for after the show. But the point is,

23:18

but the point is, I

23:20

don't know what we're going to get today.

23:23

Because Lee is

23:25

currently in phase.

23:26

One of a food coma,

23:28

he is starting to fade.

23:31

He could be at a full blown rack

23:33

of ribs, a steak, a baked

23:36

potato, broccoli, and

23:38

a side of fries at three in the moring

23:41

me no, ribes.

23:42

There's technically still some in the fridge, but

23:45

they technically were not brought for

23:47

me. They were brought for everybody.

23:50

I was going to save those ones from my daughter though, So you're

23:52

technically stealing from children.

23:54

Damn good

23:57

for you. I mean, I'm not eating red meat

23:59

for two months, so it's all good. I'm

24:01

one day in one and a half day. Then,

24:04

Lee, how are you feeling? Oh

24:08

my gosh, feeling good, real good. A

24:12

response time was a little a little delayed.

24:15

It's uh yeah, it's.

24:16

A little bit of a ven diagram going

24:18

on between what was going on last night and

24:20

what I'm eating this morning.

24:21

So yeah, how's your belly filling?

24:24

A little bloated? Okay? Hey,

24:27

by the way, that barkley is going to start barking or.

24:30

A little bit that barkley yeah, or broccoli

24:32

okay, whatever.

24:33

I was trying to say that because it should

24:35

be called barkley. Yeah, it should, because

24:37

it does make you bork. It does like that. I can't

24:40

eat it anymore. I love it.

24:41

It's great, but it just keep

24:43

the dog on a leash until we leave, Lee, you

24:47

can't trust him, you

24:49

do you gave that's

24:51

going to jack him up? Ah

24:53

Lee sidur Fries though,

24:55

I thought that was going to get you too, bar Nope,

24:58

No, all right, So it's

25:00

a big day in the world of football, the

25:03

transfer port Yeah.

25:04

I was stall and I was hoping we could stall out

25:06

the whole second. You don't want to talk about it. Already know

25:09

where y'all going. I already know. I've seen

25:11

it.

25:12

You were just there, though, Help me understand

25:15

what is going on?

25:17

I do not know I look

25:19

at it.

25:20

So today opens the transferred portal.

25:21

It's the second window because you know, in

25:24

college sports and football in particular, there's

25:26

got to be two windows, and of course if your coach

25:28

leaves, it opens up a third window for you to.

25:30

Just bounce around, go every one.

25:32

So the second

25:34

window opens today for the next fifteen

25:36

days to the end of the month. And

25:39

for whatever reason, you know, a

25:41

team like Alabama, it makes sense they're

25:43

going to be active in the portal because when when

25:45

Nick Saban retired,

25:48

it opened up a thirty day window where

25:51

Alabama got pillage.

25:53

I mean, like people, the teams came after

25:55

their roster, they had a lot

25:58

of guys who transferred out and there's

26:00

really nothing they could do about it to replace those

26:02

players because the window wasn't open

26:04

for Alabama to go get players out of the transfer

26:06

portal window. So this is now their

26:08

opportunity to go get players.

26:11

And KeAndre Lambert Smith,

26:14

who's, in my opinion i'd say, is the

26:16

best returning wide receiver for Penn State.

26:18

They've got Juwayne Fleming who was at Ohio.

26:20

State, so maybe he would have been the

26:22

number one guy or will be the number one guy, but he's

26:25

for whatever reason looking at maybe transferring

26:28

and it doesn't make any sense to me. You've

26:30

got a new OC and Penn State who's

26:33

either gonna be awesome. I know

26:35

Drew Aller didn't have the best spring game, still

26:37

learning a new offense, but you know he

26:40

shows a lot of ability and

26:42

you're gonna be the number one guy.

26:43

Like I just I don't understand.

26:46

I mean, unless he's just saying, hey, I want

26:48

to see what's out of the market there for me, see

26:50

how much I can make.

26:52

You can't fall a guy for doing that, I guess.

26:54

I mean, look, a professional player would

26:56

test for you know, the market

26:58

value and free agency. Every single year if they

27:00

could, but but they're not able to do that. So that's

27:03

the world we're living in college sports, where you have two opportunities

27:06

a year to basically see what your market value

27:08

is in free agency.

27:10

That's, in essence what this is.

27:11

It was a tap bit of a hit scratcher because

27:13

you just don't in today's day

27:16

and age like kind of how you mapped it out.

27:18

You just really aren't sure why

27:21

someone's leaving. You

27:23

just aren't. Is it because you don't

27:25

like the coaching, how you're being

27:27

used? Is somebody

27:30

is still in your shine? Is

27:33

it because somebody's

27:35

already recruiting you to a different

27:37

school? To

27:39

me, I don't I feel like for someone

27:42

like Lambert to make this

27:44

decision, he's not making that decision

27:47

based off of not having a

27:50

bird in the hand. I think somebody.

27:52

I think he's already got what

27:54

he's got and he felt good about

27:57

it and it was better

27:59

than what he currently he has situationally

28:01

speaking, and that's what he's

28:03

leaving for.

28:04

Where do you think it is? I don't know. A

28:08

and M Tennessee. I

28:11

don't. I don't. I don't really know.

28:14

Where, But I would I

28:16

would assume wherever he ends up.

28:19

That's that's that's what was going

28:21

on. What would be the most insulting to you. I

28:25

mean, I don't want

28:27

to offend. I don't want to offend him,

28:30

but it would be if Ohio State took him

28:32

and like return to favor of us taking one

28:34

of one of theirs. But

28:37

I don't think that they want I don't

28:39

think they want them.

28:41

He would crack their top three.

28:43

And so there you go. I didn't I said I didn't want to be offensive.

28:46

You said it, not me, But yeah, I.

28:48

Would be objective when watching

28:50

all those players play.

28:52

He's not going to play ahead of Jeremiah Smith.

28:54

He's not gonna play ahead of the Mecca OBUCA, He's

28:56

not gonna play ahead of Carneal Tate.

28:59

So there you go.

29:00

He probably won't play ahead of Brandon Enis once

29:02

he comes back from injury.

29:04

Brandon is that

29:07

family? Is that no?

29:10

Different different spelling?

29:11

I N I okay, I

29:14

just I you know.

29:15

And there were rumors that that k

29:17

tron might hit the portal, and

29:20

I don't know if it happened or not. I

29:22

don't know if it will happen. I

29:25

saw him on the sideline of the game.

29:27

So I felt like that was promising.

29:30

But if he's

29:32

on the sideline of not playing, it's not promising

29:34

because he's saving himself.

29:35

Were wasn't

29:37

even there, No, I know that he hasn't been there.

29:40

He wasn't even there. Yeah, he cleanked out, his locker

29:42

room was out, so you

29:45

know, I don't know.

29:45

But again, here's the thing.

29:47

I don't take it, you know, as

29:51

a slight I think for any of these schools, so that that can't

29:53

be your way.

29:54

You look at it.

29:55

The way the rules are set up and

29:57

the way this whole system works is you have

30:00

representation and agents who

30:03

are essentially shopping

30:05

players around before they're even in the transfer

30:08

that that's part of the issue

30:11

is in the NFL, and this happens

30:14

to a degree, if we're being honest, when

30:17

the combine hits the new league

30:19

year hasn't even began. These

30:21

agents have clients, they're on teams, they're

30:23

trying to work out an extension. If not, they're trying to work out

30:25

of trade, and they obviously are talking to

30:27

other teams about other clients. And it happens to be oh,

30:30

you know, so and so might be up for a trade. You know, would

30:32

you guys be wanting to, you know, sign an extension. What would

30:34

that look like?

30:35

All those things are being discussed, and

30:38

it's not you know, tampering.

30:39

Necessarily, where you know you

30:41

have a coach or a player trying to entice

30:43

another player on another roster to come over, even

30:46

though even that happens from time to time. Right, we

30:49

heard that this offseason. We heard

30:51

Kirk Cousins basically openly admit this. Then Kyle

30:53

Pitts reached out about coming to Atlanta.

30:57

So that stuff goes on. But

30:59

the the problem is the setup

31:02

is made so players have the

31:04

ability to test free agency to see

31:06

what their market value is twice a year. You

31:09

can't even do that in the NFL. That's

31:12

why I keep going back to we keep moving

31:14

this college football game closer to a professional league.

31:16

We have an example of it in the NFL,

31:19

and yet you only have one time a year when

31:22

the new league year starts and free agency starts,

31:24

and this.

31:25

Whole thing turns over. And it's said, in

31:27

college football, we have two it's

31:29

not hard. They can fix it. That's

31:32

the biggest issue.

31:33

And I don't care when you I would rather you put

31:35

in the spring because I think it makes more sense.

31:38

Like if I'm looking at it, I

31:41

think it allows you to construct your roster to

31:44

prepare for you know, what

31:46

you're heading into the fall, with what you're heading into the summer

31:48

with. You have that last spring to evaluate,

31:50

especially with the early en roll leagues and freshmen,

31:53

what your roster is going to look like, whether or

31:55

not a sophomore junior who may already be there is going

31:57

to get a chance over incoming freshmen.

32:00

You have the opportunity to evaluate all of that as the coach,

32:02

as the player, everything.

32:04

So put the thirty day window starting

32:07

today, let it run through May

32:09

and then be done. That's it.

32:12

Make the young people have to commit for a year,

32:14

and if there's a coaching change, we know how that

32:16

works, the window opens back up for thirty days

32:18

for that specific school.

32:20

Done deal. That'll solve so many

32:22

issues that you're seeing right now in college football.

32:25

Two pros and a cup of Joe here Fox Sports Radio

32:27

33:44

There you're off and running. Here with another edition

33:47

we thank you, fellas.

33:49

I'll take it. Everything's a little late today. Guys,

33:52

First, would you rather for the day? Would

33:54

you rather have leftovers at the office

33:57

or calamari at a dive bar?

34:01

What type of leftovers?

34:03

Well, today's leftovers are good, but uh,

34:05

I've had bad. I've had worse, that's for sure. Today's

34:08

was wreck of lambs, rack

34:10

of lambs.

34:11

And you're saying it it's fresh calamari at

34:13

the office, it's it's frozen at

34:15

the dive bar.

34:16

At the dive bar, it's frozen.

34:17

I'm going to take the dive bar.

34:20

I'm gonna starve myself.

34:21

Yeah, I mean is that an option? No,

34:25

hows a die of hunger?

34:27

Chose not to eat?

34:29

That's not How would you rather works, lell

34:32

I would rather not do any of it?

34:33

Yeah, I'll go leftovers

34:36

at the office. Not a big fan of calamari.

34:40

If you would have said, like it was fresh cooked.

34:42

And chewy, I

34:45

don't like chewi a kylamar.

34:48

I think he's I think he's going to

34:50

have a good year this year.

34:51

I too.

34:52

Plus he's dating Valentina Chipchenkos.

34:54

She'll beat your ass. Yeah, she will.

34:56

Brady your sister.

34:57

By the way, Yeah, Brady was telling me know

35:00

this until yesterday. Brady was telling me that she has.

35:02

Got a hand can the side of her She got a.

35:04

Handgun tattooed on the side of it.

35:06

I believe that, man

35:09

I was here, that

35:12

God show you something.

35:13

Man I heard what he said.

35:17

All Right, what else you got?

35:18

Guys?

35:18

Would you rather win the Little League World Series

35:21

or always be a Triple A player?

35:25

What the funny thing about

35:27

this is like winning the.

35:29

Little League World Series has no monetary

35:32

value to it. Meanwhile, like you're

35:34

playing a professional sport if you're the triple Triple

35:37

A.

35:37

Forever, like

35:39

I might even come.

35:42

I didn't even compare the two.

35:44

I played Triple A baseball, and I think it'd be a lot

35:46

more fun than just winning the Little League World Series.

35:48

Yeah, plus you probably drink too. Yeah,

35:51

I'll go Triple A Baseball. I

35:53

wanna go Little League World Series? It is

35:56

unless I.

35:59

Just want.

36:00

LaVar would be a contrarian, so he fixed the opposite.

36:02

Is there a World Series for Triple

36:04

A ball?

36:05

Like?

36:05

Is there a championship?

36:06

Yes?

36:07

Yes, Oh I'm

36:10

still going Williamsport. I'm going I'm going

36:12

Little Such.

36:13

A lie because if LeVar ever

36:15

saw sometimes the lifestyle of a Triple

36:17

A baseball platle No.

36:18

I

36:20

I saw it this weekend.

36:23

Let's watch Bull Durham.

36:25

I'm just saying, I gotta I gotta cover up my

36:27

tracks, man, I was hanging

36:29

out with the Spikes this uh this

36:32

this week. Yeah, they're

36:34

about to get started in fact, but

36:37

I'm gonna still go with Low League World Series.

36:40

There you go, leads, All right, dig it, guys,

36:42

would you rather wake up to a ghost or

36:45

an intruder twice your size?

36:48

Jesus Lee, you must you gotta be a

36:50

drug addict or something like? Where do you come up

36:52

with this stuff?

36:53

I would say ghostly because I feel

36:55

like there's not really much harm that's going to be done.

36:57

If that's the case, right, But what

37:00

is one of them horror flick ghosts, paranormal

37:02

activity?

37:03

Ghost you

37:05

didn't specify?

37:07

Is a valient ghost?

37:09

You know? Like yeah, right, it's a slimer

37:11

Like if it's a violent ghost, I'll take the

37:13

intruder because ghosts don't have a c LS

37:16

or like balls, so like,

37:18

at least that's an eat.

37:20

I know that.

37:22

How are you gonna do anything to anyone's a c L? What

37:24

are you talking about like, what are you gonna do?

37:26

First?

37:26

Basically saying he's gonna leg kick the dude deaths

37:28

twice more

37:31

time.

37:31

It's a fighting chance, all right, with a

37:33

ghost. When's the last time you watched a movie with the ghost

37:35

and they got kicked in the nuts?

37:37

Technically you don't have a fighting chance

37:39

because he said wake up to so

37:42

you don't really have a fighting chance.

37:43

You're a yeah, they've got I've

37:46

got a standing thrust kick. That's out

37:48

of this world.

37:51

I mean, how do you know it's not cast friendly

37:54

ghosts? You know?

37:55

How are you gonna kick him? If you under your blanket?

37:57

The only say as you got is if you're not under that blanket,

38:00

you under that blanket, you're in trouble.

38:01

Right, What else you go? I keep

38:04

that heater close though.

38:05

That toaster strudle stays real close

38:07

though, Just so you know, you mess

38:09

around and find out.

38:10

Some people are called a pop tart, Okay.

38:13

And mess around and find out, especially

38:15

if you twice my size.

38:18

Zilla. I'm shooting

38:20

first, I'm asking questions later. I'm just telling

38:23

you. I tell my own kids they better knock

38:25

before they come in my door. You got time for

38:27

one more?

38:27

That's what

38:30

around
