Carla and Dan Goffard are celebrating 111 years of their family farm. Dan's grandfather acquired their Brown County farm through the Allotment Act. The farm is on former Oneida land. The dairy barn was nontraditional -- the cows faced inward with manure gutters on the outsides, making room for horses on the sides. Dan's father was also a dairyman on the farm. It was only until recently that the land was without cows. After an accident, Carla and Dan had to sell the farm and most of the land. Now the Goffard family resides on 17 acres of the family farm. But farming remains in the family's blood as the fourth generation wants to continue farming, even if it's not on the Century Farm.
