month we do listener submitted stories.

2:31

Friday? Did I say Friday? You

2:33

did. I was like nothing happens

2:35

on Fridays. Nothing happens on Fridays

2:37

here, a Friday free show. I

2:40

think it's because in my head like I don't know why I'm

2:42

thinking Fridays. Work maybe. I don't know.

2:45

It's not even a real thing. We don't know

2:47

what's happening. We're just here. It's

2:50

fine. We're still getting used to

2:52

recording in the daytime people. So the

2:54

last Monday of every month

2:56

we do listener submitted stories. So

2:58

if you have a story either

3:01

true crime or spooky and you

3:03

want us to read it here

3:05

on the pod, please send it

3:07

to our email which is [email protected].

3:09

But we're gonna go ahead and

3:12

dive into our first story. Okay,

3:14

our first story comes from Isla

3:16

and Isla writes, Hello, Jessica, Tara. My

3:19

name is Isla and I listen to

3:21

you from Mexico and Baja California to

3:23

be exact. I really enjoy listening to

3:26

the podcast and you make it sound

3:28

easy and interesting. Well, thank you. We're

3:31

struggling right now, but thank you. We

3:34

appreciate that a lot. So my story is kind

3:36

of sad and personal to me at the same

3:38

time and I feel like I can finally share it with someone.

3:40

I became a mom at the age of 20 and

3:43

by the age of 24, I already was a

3:45

mother to three beautiful kids, two girls and one

3:47

boy. I separated from my ex and moved into

3:49

my grandmother's four bedroom home where my mother also

3:51

lived. I shared my room with my three kids

3:53

and my mom and my grandma had their own

3:55

two separate rooms. My mom was

3:57

into tarot readings and fortune telling games that would get

4:00

super creepy when I would find her in a

4:02

room full of candles and smell like incense and

4:04

burnt leaves of some sort. I'm laughing because I'm

4:06

sure my child will look back and have like

4:08

similar things. Because I do stuff like

4:11

this, obviously. Or she just, I don't

4:13

know, she's just used to it. I

4:15

think maybe it's like as an adult, Bug

4:17

walked in and saw this and like had

4:20

no reference, she'd be like, okay, mom. What

4:22

is it? Like since it's been a part of

4:24

her life. She's like, wait, your mom doesn't do

4:26

that? Right, exactly. Can my mom come over and

4:28

cleanse your house first? I don't want to stay

4:31

the night. One

4:33

night I couldn't sleep, which was odd because being

4:35

a mom of three babies was super exhausting. But

4:38

something was different this particular night. My mom had

4:40

taken the night shift and my grandmother's room was

4:42

on the other side of the house. All of

4:44

a sudden, I started hearing a woman crying in

4:46

my mom's bedroom. So I thought maybe she came

4:49

back from work and wasn't feeling well. So I went

4:51

to go check on her. Big was my surprise when

4:53

I opened her room and she wasn't there. I

4:55

felt this rush in my body and hurried back

4:57

to my room, turned on the TV and tried to

4:59

go to sleep. The following days were normal since my

5:01

mom was off and any noise I would hear coming

5:03

from her room, I would relate to my mom and

5:05

that would give me a little peace of mind.

5:07

I mean, that's a pretty like logical

5:10

way of thinking. Right. Don't blame you.

5:12

Don't blame you. One night my mom was working again and there

5:15

it was. I could hear a woman sobbing and crying

5:17

and some muffled words I couldn't understand. So

5:19

I turned on the TV and attempted to

5:21

fall asleep. This kept going on for a couple

5:23

more days, but one night on February 21st, 2023, my mom was

5:26

in her room and there was something different. Something

5:29

woke her up at 2am and I felt

5:31

so scared, so impatient and disturbed. It was

5:33

a heavy feeling, so I got up and

5:35

checked on the kids. My two oldest were

5:37

deep asleep, but when my two month old

5:39

baby, Natalia, was not breathing. I remember talking

5:41

on the phone to the emergency line and a

5:43

woman walking me through the steps to try and

5:45

do CPR on her and stimulate her chest

5:47

while the paramedics arrived. When they got to my

5:49

house, they took baby Natalia and me into the

5:52

ambulance to the hospital where they had me waiting in

5:54

a small room until a doctor showed up and told me

5:56

that my child had arrived to the hospital, but with no

5:58

vital signs and there was no sign. was nothing

6:00

they could do. Everything became blurry after that and

6:02

I felt like I was walking on cotton and

6:04

floating at times, but to be honest, I don't

6:06

remember much of that night, but my mom said

6:09

she woke up because she heard me crying

6:11

and screaming, the worst night of my existence.

6:13

A couple of weeks went by and I totally

6:15

forgot about the crying woman in my mom's bedroom

6:17

until one evening I was getting ready for bed

6:19

and I heard something again. It wasn't the woman

6:21

crying, this time it was a baby

6:23

crying and a woman singing. I started crying

6:25

and praying after that. I've never spoken to

6:27

anyone about my true feelings regarding this experience.

6:30

Here in Mexico, we have certain beliefs when

6:32

it comes to witches and entities. I never

6:34

really understood what SIDS was, but I strongly

6:36

believe she took my baby Natalia. To

6:38

be honest, sometimes I try to listen

6:40

in hopes to hear her again. Well,

6:42

we are sending love to you and

6:44

I just want to say thank

6:46

you for entrusting us with your story. Love

6:48

to you, love to you. So with that,

6:51

I'm going to hand it over to Jess

6:53

for our next story. Yes. Okay, my first

6:55

story comes from Grant. I'm just going

6:57

to say that Grant submitted a lot

6:59

of stories and we are here for

7:01

it. You'll probably be hearing Grant stories

7:04

for some time. I'm here for that.

7:06

The first grouping, we have like four

7:08

stories. This one is called

7:10

The Night Visitor. This took place in

7:12

my apartment in Salem, Oregon, or my

7:14

first apartment in Salem, Oregon. I mentioned

7:16

it in the first story, which I

7:18

have not, we have not read yet,

7:21

so just so everyone knows. Backwards. Backwards.

7:23

And it takes place in

7:25

2000, 2001. This happened after my roommate moved

7:27

out and it didn't end well. Unfortunately, and

7:29

my boyfriend at the time was living with

7:31

me. We both were asleep and we were

7:33

woken up by a loud noise banging on

7:35

the front door and what sounded like laughing.

7:38

It was about 3.30 in the morning. We

7:40

woke up confused and I thought it was

7:42

someone's drunk friend dropping by. So I ignored

7:44

it, hoping it would go away. The

7:46

pounding and the laughing still kept on. So

7:49

I got up and put on some PJs

7:51

to go yell at them. Important fact, you should

7:53

not yell at people naked. No. Now

7:56

It is important to know that these apartments

7:58

were not in the best area. It was

8:00

Salem, Oregon. organ so nothing a horrible but

8:02

other gonna say like is Salem Ore hypnotic

8:04

Nice place to live like and ninety I

8:06

didn't know it had same area as I

8:08

guess everyone has Cd areas of that reminds

8:10

you of the moment like Gilmore Girls are.

8:12

She's like so me the Cd part of

8:15

town the underbelly into that over there I

8:17

think flies like that. I like the services

8:19

if if there was Salem Oregon. So nothing

8:21

horrible but the place of known. For

8:23

drugs and was known as crack. Wow

8:25

oh okay of had escalated quickly with

8:27

rabid wouldn't for my eyes as the

8:29

years as like maybe them play for

8:31

people parked on their lawn know morale

8:33

and all of them. As

8:36

I walked into the door I got scared feeling

8:38

that washed over me. I'm not sure why but

8:40

I became paralyzed with fear in the middle of

8:42

the living room of bread from the door. Which

8:45

led to the exterior breeze. When

8:47

I realized the last thing wasn't

8:49

laughing, it was hysterical crying. With

8:51

the pounding on the door, it was hysterical crying

8:53

with someone who was in fear for their life.

8:55

Or who had just lost a close family

8:58

member. I thought someone my be in trouble

9:00

so I looked through. The people and I

9:02

didn't see any but still heard sobs

9:04

and pounding on the door. I opened

9:06

the door and saw no Instead, Grant

9:08

never opened the door as. As I

9:11

use in a Black Eyed Children to

9:13

ten get you access. Although it's

9:15

how you open the door and let

9:17

the entity in in. This is true

9:19

as. Is true. We realized over the

9:21

dark slow is the same, very quiet

9:23

and he didn't see. Anyone in the have a

9:26

set the door and as soon as I. Liked it.

9:28

I heard the historical sobbing and pounding

9:30

on the dog and I immediately slug

9:32

it open to silence and oh no

9:34

it was just the flickering hall and

9:36

forgets and at this point the seer

9:38

overtook me and I slammed the door

9:40

shut and want waiting to see if

9:42

I heard any noises den it didn't

9:44

and I walked back to the by

9:46

bedroom where my boyfriend asked who it

9:48

was know what. Know

9:50

and have a lot of of the now and

9:52

we want a Now I just. The oh emitters

9:54

of I told him no and okay. this

9:57

is nothing has their it off he just stared

9:59

at me with We both tried to sleep

10:01

after that, but couldn't. Rightually so. After

10:04

that incident, we lived in that apartment for

10:06

another year. We would hear someone going through

10:08

the Civil War drawer or the cabinets opening

10:10

and shutting late at night. See, you did

10:12

let it in. I was right. This never

10:14

happened before the incident and continued until

10:16

we left. We never figured it out,

10:18

but still get goosebumps every time I

10:20

remember hearing that desperation and those

10:22

cries for help. Grant, they

10:24

wanted to come into your house and you open

10:26

the door and you let them in. And I'm

10:29

pretty sure the crying after that was on the

10:31

inside. It's like the calls coming from inside

10:33

the house. Don't like. Don't

10:35

like. Okay, so our next spookster

10:37

that sent in the story, her

10:39

name is Jen. Jen has shared

10:42

other stories with us before. So

10:44

that's exciting. Okay, Jen writes,

10:46

Hey ladies, Jen checking in. I am

10:48

continuing to love the show. You guys

10:50

have faced adversity and rocked on through

10:52

stronger than ever. Well, thank you. Thank

10:54

you. You guys are so nice to us. We

10:56

love you. Thank

10:58

you. Like y'all don't know what's

11:01

going on behind the scenes or in real life, but

11:03

a bitch needed that. So

11:05

thank you. All righty. It's

11:07

been a while since I shared a story with you

11:09

and oh, and this was sent back in spooky season.

11:12

What a better time than to share my Eloise

11:14

asylum story. Hell yeah. It's spooky season year around

11:16

here. You guys know that. So if you think

11:18

this place sounds familiar, you guys did a podcast

11:20

on it a few years back. It's one of

11:22

the most haunted places in Michigan. It's located in

11:25

Westland. Currently the person who bought

11:27

it has plans to make it into a

11:29

restaurant hotel and haunted attraction. What could go

11:31

wrong? I mean, I still want to go. That's

11:33

a toxic trait, but it's fine. This

11:37

year they have it set up as a

11:40

haunted house. They have this location on the

11:42

first floor where they play off the asylum

11:44

theme. Lots of evil doctors, mental patients, not

11:46

super scary, but pretty cool. The basement. I

11:49

don't know if you remember from the podcast you

11:51

did, but the basement is located, there is the

11:53

location of the demonic presence. They hear

11:55

scratching on walls and see shadow type

11:57

things crawling on the ceiling. Awesome. take

12:00

back my statement. I don't want to go here. See,

12:04

I love all this stuff, but I will,

12:06

I will bail. I am not being

12:08

one of the people to die in a horror

12:10

movie. I will fucking bail and live. Well,

12:14

the owners put an alien type of

12:16

haunt down there. As far as graphics

12:18

and things, it was okay. Not super

12:20

scary. But as we are walking through

12:22

one of the dead sections, I just

12:24

felt this extreme heaviness on my chest. It

12:26

was getting hard to breathe. A few minutes

12:29

later, my daughter, who is also sensitive to

12:31

that stuff, turns around and says to me,

12:33

do you feel something heavy like pushing on

12:35

your chest? I say, yeah. The feeling really didn't

12:37

go away until we were out of a couple

12:39

other areas. When we got out of the basement

12:42

and we're all talking, my kid and I both

12:44

said, whatever's in that basement isn't happy. We all

12:46

agreed it's not a good idea to mess with

12:48

the ghosties home, but here they are giving it

12:50

their best. My kid and I are hoping nothing

12:52

followed us home, as that would be just wrong.

12:55

Oh my god, that would suck so bad. You

12:57

try to go do some fun Halloween thing and

12:59

then your fucking house is like, you have a poltergeist

13:01

or something. Oh my god. See, if I had ghosts

13:03

come to my house, I want them to be like

13:05

the show ghosts, where they're like fun

13:08

and... The nice ghosts. Yeah, and

13:10

interact with me. And I turn the TV

13:12

on when they want to watch their shows.

13:15

The owners offer paranormal tours and the crew

13:17

is planning to go in November. So look

13:19

for more fun letters later. Okay, well, it

13:21

is now January. So, Jen, we want our

13:24

story. Where's our story? We want

13:26

the stories. Keep up the good work and I'm

13:28

enjoying the deeper dives into stuff. Oh, thanks. I

13:30

love that. Jen, we're ready for an update now.

13:34

Yes, please. And thank you. Okay. All

13:36

right. Okay, so our last story

13:39

comes from Maddie, which I do

13:41

appreciate Maddie. Like, you put the

13:43

pronunciation of your name next to your

13:46

name because sometimes I will be honest,

13:48

I will look at a name and

13:50

I would have figured out eventually that said

13:52

Maddie. I might be like, what? Because as

13:54

I say on the podcast all the time,

13:56

I'm really bad at pronouncing names. My

13:58

name is Maddie and I have been listening to... The guys.

14:00

for a while i think some twenty

14:03

twenty one and finally caught up on

14:05

episodes on Spotify Patriot. I'm coming for

14:07

you next. Day and now here are my

14:09

source says if you wanna see if if

14:11

if if you're like done with the main

14:13

v there's so much on the be drumbeat

14:15

this is years back but I remember these

14:17

experiences clearly. My aunt. Is very much into

14:20

the spiritual South and continue Elite says

14:22

I'm a very empathetic. Person and I

14:24

talk a lot about ghosts and spirits.

14:26

I'm never truly understand what she meant

14:28

until I experienced sleep paralysis. Ah Maddie

14:31

Honey Ah no I'm sorry. I was

14:33

at least a pre teen at the

14:35

time in my parents current home and

14:37

I had a loft bed and if

14:40

you see rifle and of your as

14:42

lazy as me you wouldn't want to

14:44

causally climb the ladder said Thankfully I

14:46

had a futon couch and I was

14:48

sleeping on on it for a weed

14:51

out of laziness and then I. Had

14:53

my first experience I was on my

14:55

side facing the door and it's always

14:58

close but the same as opened. How

15:00

can we Cps go see the human?

15:02

Ah the goes couldn't I'm an otherwise

15:04

the best I can describe as it's

15:07

a slender man with a legs instead

15:09

and Jack black with a huge now

15:11

know. The by yeah,

15:13

they crawled. Along the walls and eventually

15:15

ended up above me. And when the episode

15:18

was over, I chalked it up to having

15:20

a. Huge imagination The next night. At

15:22

the same time as the night before,

15:24

I felt the same thing. I opened

15:26

my eyes to find a decomposing man.

15:28

On top of me and i was

15:30

to raring to look directly. At and

15:33

had looking as far as I could or

15:35

it as far as I could at my

15:37

door and I saw a woman and address

15:39

from the early eighteen hundreds that was d

15:42

Bread seabirds at me and I clearly was

15:44

terrified of his men and she walked away

15:46

towards the bathroom. Lady goes, How fucking root.

15:48

Of yo com get your do says I

15:51

thus here problem by ray Needless to say

15:53

I didn't sleep the rest in the that

15:55

I told my parents who. didn't believe

15:57

in the paranormal who said it was

16:00

a nasty nightmare. And I got rid of

16:02

the futon the next day. Your futon is

16:04

haunted. Goodbye futon. Bye

16:06

futon. Now this is from the

16:08

year 2023. It was March, my

16:10

birthday month. Oh, your birthday's coming up in

16:12

like two months. Exciting. I had not experienced

16:15

sleep paralysis for at least five years at

16:17

this point. And this day in March,

16:19

I took a nap. Oh, no, not

16:21

a nap. Naps are sacred. I was

16:23

home alone and my dog was deep

16:25

asleep at my foot. That feeling of

16:27

paralysis came over and it was all

16:29

too familiar. I wasn't about to terrify

16:31

myself and keep my eyes closed. And

16:33

the spot next to me on the bed

16:36

sank as if someone sat down. I smelled

16:38

such a floral smell and it was comforting.

16:40

And I felt a hand on my head

16:42

as it stroked to my hair and then

16:44

the spirit left and I was able to wake

16:46

up. I like to think it was my grandmother who had passed

16:49

when I was three or four in 2009 from

16:52

ALS. I remember she smelled

16:54

of floral perfume. Now a

16:56

fun story to wrap this up. My

16:58

dad is in law enforcement and he had tons

17:00

of stories. But one of my favorite is

17:02

the Peter Pan one. I

17:05

don't even know yet. I'm so excited. He

17:08

was a patrol officer at the time and he was

17:10

helping chase a man who was high on some

17:12

sort of meth or steroids. Oh, no,

17:15

let's hope not both. He broke into

17:17

someone's home and the officer tried to

17:19

corner him in an upstairs room. They

17:21

tried to tase him, but he took

17:23

the screen off the window and blocked

17:25

the prongs and then proceeded to jump

17:27

out of the window like Peter Pan

17:29

and land on a lawn mower. He

17:31

then popped right back up and took

17:34

and started to book it. It

17:37

took five officers to pen him

17:39

down. That's so great. I

17:42

am now going to start calling people

17:44

who do things like jump out of windows Peter

17:46

Pan. Sorry, that

17:48

was so long. No, don't be sorry. But

17:50

I hope these stories bring some joy and

17:52

end up on the pod. They most certainly

17:54

brought some joy Because I'm not have a

17:57
