This week I bring you a Bitcoin 101 from Dr Nicolas Courtois, Senior Lecturer in Cryptography at UCL. As a professional code breaker, Nicolas talks first about the problem that cryptography solves with the invention of the blockchain, before going on to talk about Bitcoin, what it is, how it works and the role of miners in the network. First though, I catch up with Justin Drake, founder of the Cambridge Bitcoin Meetup Group to talk about the unveiling of his Bitcoin ATM in Cambridge in the 30th Oct. We talk about why Bitcoin ATM’s are a good idea and whether they are here to stay.
