Discussions about non-Black students enrolling at HBCUs and their true intention have long since been debated in the HBCU community by alumni and outsiders...Is it because they love the culture? Are they genuine allies? Are they taking advantage of an opportunity to study at a unique institution to learn more about the culture? No matter what the reason, respect for the institution, its history, and the student body should be rule #1. Recently a Howard Law School student who happened to not be black crossed all three of those lines and is suing the institution...Check in with the crew to hear our thoughts on this.
