This song was written before Valentine's Day in 2004 when I came across the book War Letters by Andrew Carroll. Many of the heartfelt words shared by servicemen years ago inspired me to write this song. This song captures those feelings of yesterday and today as those in the military continue to write to their loved ones from overseas.
