In Episode Four of the A-NEWScast, we conclude our series on the prescription painkiller and heroin epidemic in Athens County. In this episode, David DeWitt sits down with Eric, a Columbus-area man who spent most of his life addicted to alcohol and using drugs before becoming a heroin addict the past several years. In December 2016, Eric decided to turn his life around. He is now a resident of the John W. Clem Recovery House in Athens, and spends his time looking for ways to help others. This is his story.
