Bonnie Nish, Ā  isĀ  the Executive Director of Word Vancouver and Pandoraā€™s Collective Outreach Society. Bonnie has a Masters in Arts Education from Simon Fraser University and a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy Education from UBC. Bonnieā€™s research interest is focused on how those recovering from trauma, specifically Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries (MTBI), are affected by the kind of care they receive in terms of recovery using poetic inquiry and life writing.Ā  Bonnie has been widely published worldwide in such places as The Ottawa Arts Review, The Danforth Review, Haunted Waters Press, Illness Crisis & Loss Journal Volume 24 and The Blue Print Review.

Bonnieā€™s first book of poetry ā€˜Love and Bonesā€™ was released by Karma Press.Ā  Her next book ā€œConcussion and Mild TBI: Not Just Another Headlineā€ an anthology of concussion-related stories, was published by Lash and Associates in 2016. Bonnie is an Expressive Arts Therapist with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies from the Vancouver Expressive Arts Therapy School,Ā  where she is a faculty member. Her latest book, Cantata in Two Voices, co-written with Jude Neal was released by Ekstasis Editions. Bonnie is currently working on her next book.
