Host Marjie Richardson talk with Kristen Traverse about her real like comeback story of having a stroke at 31 and all that changes that come with it.
Kristen Traverse is a Registered Nurse and is a Certified Respiratory Educator and Chronic Disease Educator. She has a background in Hemodialysis, neurology, emergency and mental health. She sits on the various Cardiovascular and Stroke Strategic Networks committees and is a Heart and Stroke Foundation spokesperson.
Her life took a turn when she was diagnosed with a severe stroke at the age of 31 and was diagnosed with Aphasia and Apraxia and had to relearn to speak, read and write.
After a long recovery, Kristen is now educating others about cardiovascular and mental health and helps others find their voice and worth.
She is now a private nurse consultant that works within schools bringing new methods to works children that have exceptionalities. She is an advocate of patient-centred care and speaks at various venues about compassionate care. Kristen is also a Certified, Compassionate Fatigue and Vicarious Trauma training facilitator. She is also co-founder of Mywhyrevolution.com, where they work with nonprofits and tell stories of resilient people.
Kristen lives on an acreage outside of Kitscoty with her wonderful husband and two amazing boys
