Our guest this week on The Aditi Surana show is Pune-based computer engineer, Veeshwajeet Kashid, who is the most frequent platelets donor and the fourth most frequent AB-ve blood donor in the world. So far, he has donated platelets 183 times which means he has saved more than 183 lives. He has gone through 14 life-threatening Granulocyte transfusions, knowing the risk of getting Cancer in each transfusion.
His efforts were also applauded by the central health ministry and he was awarded the title ‘Young Medical Scientist’. With this title, he became the first engineer to receive the award. Earlier only people from the medical fraternity have received the title.
He also started the initiative ‘Blood Bank Tourism’ to promote platelet donation. He works selflessly to educate the youth on safe blood & platelets donation. He is the Goodwill Ambassador for Platelets Donation(India), an IIM TEDx Speaker and one of the bravest individuals we have come across.
