The anointing is the presence of Jesus. When we have the anointing in our lives, it breaks the yoke of bondage and sets us free. It allows us to walk in victory even when we face tests and trials. You could even say that the anointing (that is, the presence of Jesus) attracts the blessing in our lives.

One example of how the anointing, or the lack of it, transformed Israel is found in the story of David and Goliath.

Initially, Saul was anointed king over Israel but when he disobeyed God, he lost his anointing (he lost the presence of Jesus in his life) and his kingdom suffered. Everyone around him was affected by his lack of anointing.

But when God anointed David to be Saul’s successor, the anointing brought upon David a divine enablement that gave him the boldness and courage to stand against Goliath.
