The problem with low calorie diets is that your metabolism slows down. You will lose weight in the beginning but you’ll hit a plateau. The slowing of your metabolism will make weight gain slow and steady over the next several months.
This is called “adaptive thermogenesis” and is the reason why weight loss plateaus are so common. Not only does it make it hard to lose weight, it’s almost impossible to keep it off. (90% of people regain the weight they lost and often add more)
⭐️ Solution: Reset your calories with high calorie days. This is why I recommend cheat days. This is also why calorie cycling is important. Periodically, you should have days with a surplus of calories.
