Today I am speaking with Teodora Pavkovik--Singapore and New York based Psychologist, Life and Parenting Coach.

We discuss Emotional Intelligence, Positive Psychology, Emodiversity, Resilience, Digital Wellness, & Parenting in Digital World

She discusses growing up as a third culture kid in present day Serbia (formerly Yugoslavia) and Kuwait during war torn times in the 90s surrounded by different cultures, religions, and customs and the resilience, preserved childhood, and innocence her parents were able to provide, despite the circumstances of her surroundings.

Teodora discusses her TedX talk on Emodiversity, in Singapore in 2018 and the importance of understanding the full range of emotions, and how to healthfully process these emotions. She discusses how fear and anger helped humanity survive for all these years and the importance of  increasing the positive pleasurable emotions like awe, compassion, joy, excitement, pride, positive anticipation.

  2. Allow yourself to feel negative emotions & understand how it feels within your body.
  3. Choose how you want to feel and respond, while knowing what your strengths are.

Awareness of key. She discusses a Mindfulness technique to bring attention to being present and grounded. Notice what your senses are in the moment (sights/sounds/smells/sensing) and what you are feeling. Focus on the here and now, being present in the moment.

Digital technology and the numbing of our senses, where our time is being sucked, and what are you feeling? The benefits of connection and humane technology. Setting limits and implementing your values within family unit. Importance of active versus passive consumption of technology.

Current and Future Projects

*Created a 1.5 hour Art, Mindfulness, Self work, Trance work that will be rolled out in 2020.
