Donna and I have met Maurie via Zoom as part of our journey of meeting people. Maurie was recommended to us by Devika Valsaraj who we also met on our journey of meeting people.  Devika mentioned there are two people on LinkedIn that she admires the most and Maurie was one of them. This lead us to a joint conversation with Maurie, Devika  and ourselves. In this Zoom meeting Maurie showed us his  collection of irons , a memory that will never be forgotten 🙂

In response to the 2020 Covid-19 restricted visitor precautions Maurie devised a way to maintain connection with his elders whilst adhering to strict infection control. Maurie  simply appeared at their windows & engaged them via the safety of glass. This was trialled with enthusiastic support and his desire to reach his elders who were missing the outside world and craving contact during Covid-19  was quickly embraced. Due to further restrictions, they have currently moved to videochat "Zoom Mates".
