Episode 01 – Matty P

Matt Prawicka puts the headphones on with us and discusses his role in helping Long Islanders. Matty is a social worker dedicated to helping families broken by addiction to find help for their loved ones and repair the family dynamic. He works on interventions, getting addicts into rehabs that will suit their needs, and providing continued support to the patient and family in recovery.

We talk about the initial cause of the opioid crisis, the current state of affairs on Long Island and the United States, and the recent Government action to battle the epidemic. To break the seriousness a bit we get a bit stupid towards the end. Every bad situation should be held with a level of seriousness but never without a bit of humor. Laughter is a cure all.

Matty is a long time friend of ours and we’ve seen him grow his influence over the years without the use of traditional advertisement or marketing. Every family he has assisted has been referred to him from another family or individual. This is the purest form of advertisement and an indicator of the passion in his craft. We had him on our very first podcast not only because we felt comfortable enough to speak with him candidly about a sensitive subject for many, but also because these past years he has been struggling to build a business as well as help as many people as physically possible. Two concepts that are very difficult to achieve together. He has done an incredible job of doing so against all odds.
