I have been a journalist for a few years now. Over time, the job has put me in close proximity to newsmakers in the business, political and entertainment spheres. The colleagues I have worked with along the way — who populate those spheres — are some of the smartest and savviest people that one could find in media.
Yet somehow, the most compelling anecdotes and opinions that are shared in pursuit of a story — or after a tectonic shift in the media world — so rarely make it to the screen the next morning.
Akrient strives to give readers a direct connection to writers and producers — and through them, a deeper understanding of the media business. The questions asked over a drink by one producer to another — so what do you think? — is the foundation of Akrient.com and its companion podcast, "Akrient To Go."
That conversation is often more telling than what appears on our TV screens, streaming services and in our papers.
