Free Julian Assange; and information asymmetry

Julian Assange doing better than anyone I've ever heard of in fighting "extradition" really... this multi year battle is generally unheard of.

The notion that the UK and the US are manifestly different entities in this world of clandestine "government" is functionally absurd.  5 eyes.  👁👁👁👁👁

The US is just the muscle of the British Empire that Assange, an Australian, is a subject.

Nonetheless, and despite hints that perhaps not all surrounding the Assange and Snowden cases are completely as they seem...

(Ask Barrett Brown -hacker of Palantir and subsequent federal prisoner- about Assange.  Glen Greenwald helped mothball huge swaths of the Snowden files.)

The Assange case remains immensely important if one were to still hold out hope for any sort of rule of law, and more fundamentally, any sort of notion of basic human rights, freedoms of speech and press.

For some young people, this might be "non anomalous" -like other unsatisfactorily investigated "facts" of history.

Information asymmetry.  Its completely upside down.

The people MUST be assured of personal privacy, while "governments" MUST be transparent. (60 years of James Bond movies notwithstanding!)
