Hello there!

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) has been ranked among the top 10 causes of death in the world by the World Health Organization.

In this episode, Dr. Oluwatosin Ajayi, a Veterinarian from Nigeria joins me to discuss Antimicrobial resistance and how we all can work together collaboratively to end this menace called AMR in Africa and the world at large.

Simply defined, "AMR is when our medicines specifically antibiotics no longer treat the infections that they would normally treat because they have become nonfunctional".
I hope that listening to this discussion helps you improve your knowledge of AMR but most importantly, I hope that you are able to use this knowledge to create awareness about AMR in your community.

Key areas discussed are

  • Definition of AMR
  • The implication of  AMR to health
  • The One Health concept
  • Role of African women in ending AMR
  • Role of African Youth in ending AMR

If you love this discussion, kindly share it with a friend or a colleague.

Thank you for joining in.

Regards Ruth Ketty.
