Evolution and Extraterrestrial Lifewith Frank CiullaThe increased awareness in recent years that life as we understand it is less and less likely to be unique to our planet earth, a tiny speck in the universe, has projected the idea far beyond the imaginary field of science fiction and more and more into the province of scientific investigation. What are the necessary conditions for the evolution of extraterrestrial life, and where are we most likely to find it? What can we know about what it might look like? These sessions will also explore what we mean by “consciousness” and the “biology of consciousness.” Finally, we will also examine the probable effects the discovery of extraterrestrial life would likely have on theology and religion as we know them.
