Join the All That & a Bottle of Wine 90’s Summer Club! Lauren and Jeanette have decided to raise money for the Black Lives Matter organization during the month of June by hosting the 90’s Summer Club—a club where you watch or read work by black creatives from the 90’s and early 2000’s. Our curated lists depicts the trials and tribulations of the black experience, race relationships, and police brutality in America. The lists of movies and books we’ll be accepting for donations are as followed:
Movies
Do the Right Thing by Spike Lee
Higher Learning by John Singleton
Jungle Fever by Spike Lee
Rosewood by John Singleton
Malcom X by Spike Lee
The Color of Friendship by Kevin Hooks
Books
monster by Walter Dean Myers
Playing in the Dark by Toni Morrison
Killing the Black Body by Dorothy E. Roberts
Where We Stand: Class Matters by bell hooks
A Song Flung Up to Heaven by Maya Angelou
Ella Baker and the Black Freedom Movement by Barbara Ransby
Once you’ve picked what work you want to consume, take a photo of the activity, add it to your Instagram story, and tag us @allthatandabottleofwine. Once we see your post, we will donate $5 (our goal is $50) to the Black Lives Matter organization in your name.
Thanks in advance to anyone that participates! We appreciate your support and as always, thank you for listening.
