The name of the game in this business is suppliers. A constant and reliable flow of dependable suppliers is the lifeblood of your Amazon wholesaling career. If you can’t buy products, you have nothing to sell and you can’t invest your money to compound it.

How come everyone else can get suppliers, but I can’t? This is one of the biggest questions I see on every single Amazon wholesale forum, group, or messenger board. The short answer is, you probably haven’t put in the practice enough, which means you’re also doing it wrong. 

Anyone has the ability to make money with this business model, but only a small percentage of people can actually turn this into a viable income stream. Why is that? To quote David Meltzer, “There’s only so many ‘no’s’ between you and what you want.”

Cold calling suppliers and asking to purchase products from them can be extremely depressing and even scary. In the beginning, every phone call is like a job interview. You’re going to give them the power to steer the conversation and grill you about why they should sell to you.

This is not how it’s supposed to work. Eventually, with enough questioning, you’re going to accidentally convince them NOT to sell to you. Now, don’t get me wrong, you must go through this process in order to learn how to close a deal. This doesn’t sound too exciting to most, but remember, during this learning process, you will collect a handful of ‘yes’ answers. These will drive your business enough to fund your journey to mastering the cold call.
