The Art of Medicine is a podcast series which explores how different disciplines can inform and enhance our understanding and practice of medicine. In our inaugural episode, we are talking to Dr Ranjana Srivastava about the interplay between writing and medicine. Ranjana is a medical oncologist based in Melbourne. She is also a prolific author, writing for the New England Journal of Medicine, The Guardian, and having written 5 books, including her latest book which was released earlier this month- What It Takes To Be A Doctor; An Insider’s Guide. She is a Fulbright Scholar and the recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia for her contribution to patient-doctor interaction.
