An estimated 25% of adults have a fear of needles. Many stemming
from childhood. Sometimes that causes long term consequences, such as hesitancy to get, vaccinated as well as hesitancy to pursue health care.

UCSF is engaging health care providers across the country and globally with what's known as the Ouchless Jab Challenge. To tell us more about it, KCBS  Radio's Alice Wertz spoke with Dr. Stefan Friedrichsdorf, a pediatric pain and palliative medicine specialist. He is also director of the Standard Center for Pediatric Pain, Palliative and Integrative Medicine at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals.
